Head Coach Jason Pryor is excited to see some of last season’s top competitors, including Henry Brown, Ash Hillegeist, Addison Cuff, Talia Gonzalez, Cieka Wu, and Divesh Walia. Brown, Gonzales, and Wu are in leadership roles this year, serving as team captains.

Brown leads the Men’s Epee team, and Gonzalez and Wu provide steady leadership to the Women’s Foil team. The Fencing team has also gained a group of freshmen this year who Pryor says have great potential. The team is looking forward to the ECC Championship Tournament on February 28th, and they hope to qualify for the Connecticut High School Fencing Association (CHSFA) Team Championship on March 7th. The CHSFA Individual Championships take place on March 15th. 

Team captain Henry Brown went undefeated as the NFA Boy’s Epee team scored a 7-2 win over Waterford. With the NFA Girl’s Epee winning over Ledyard with a score of 7-2. In Girl’s Foil Talia Gonzalez leads NFA to a win over Griswold with a score of 8-1. 

Pryor also noted that he is grateful for the team’s hard work and dedication to personal and team growth.
