The team captains for the winter cheer season are Grace Tisosky, Avery Twomey and Maya VeraCruz, with Melissa Gil as their coach. The team is hardworking and strong, with cheerleaders Gerry Moreno, Sage Segar, and Vanessa Spruill returning from last year’s team.

Coach Gil said, “We have experienced flyers in Izzy Iannaci and Laniyah Alvarez-Flores. Loegan Perry and Lacey Gagne have become such strong tumblers. We have been blessed with the addition of seniors Avery Twomey and Piper Bishop.”

The cheer team has many exciting competitions and games coming up like the CIAC state cheerleading competition on March 7th. The cheer team has high expectations for this season, with the team mainly consisting of returning players.

“This is the third year together for most of the cheer team, and it is evident in how far their stunting has progressed and how strong they have become as stunters.” said Gil. This season, the Wildcats are ready to bring home the gold.
