Team Captains: Savion Witherspoon, Naim Walace, Gavin Jenkins, Tiyana Taylor, and Ryleigh Teague

The NFA wrestling team has had successful past seasons thanks to returning competitors such as Savion Witherspoon, Naim Wallace, and Tiyana Taylor. The coaches believe that this year’s team will have a good season with new players like Justin Church, Axel Riquier, Shawn Spring, and Giovanni Quiles. The team was excited about the Carl Snitkin Memorial Duals that were held in honor of former NFA wrestling coach, Carl Snitkin. That tournament took place on Saturday, January 24th in NFA’s Alumni Gym, and Barrington (Rhode Island) High School won the event. The overall goal of this wrestling season is to grow and develop as a team.

NFA Wrestling team have been competing since  1974, with many records and awards gained. With a total of 9 Class LL titles on State Championships, 6 of them consecutive, from 1983 to 1988.

NFA lost 100-win wrestlers Eddie Lavoie and Jackson Sorel to graduation last year. Lavoie was also the state champion at 138 pounds.
