Coach Bill Howard is now in his 29th year of coaching the NFA golf team, with the last 13 years in the role of Varsity head coach. The captains for this upcoming season are the two seniors, Marcelo Raposo and Cooper Kilpatrick.
The team counts on top returning player Tyler Hollis, who was named to the All-Conference and All-State teams last year. They also hope that sophomores Marcus Lisee and Brayden Connell can help to make this a great season. Senior Cooper Kilpatrick and sophomore Evan Howard will also be counted to help the team be successful. Coach Howard knows they have some assets that will help the team do better this season, trying to fill Nick Wigfield’s shoes after he graduated last year.
Boys golf is excited for their matchups against Waterford, Xavier, Killingly, East Catholic. As Coach Howard said, the team has plenty of talent and “we expect to compete for both the ECC and Division I State Championships this year.”
